Patient and Family Wireless Internet

Horizon Health Network, in partnership with our local hospital Foundations and Auxiliaries, is now offering free wireless Internet access for patients and their families at the following hospitals and facilities:

  • Charlotte County Hospital (Saint John area)
  • Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital (Fredericton area)
  • Grand Manan Hospital (Grand Manan Island, Saint John area)
  • Hotel-Dieu of St. Joseph (Upper River Valley Area)
  • Miramichi Regional Hospital (Miramichi area)
  • Oromocto Public Hospital (Fredericton area)
  • Sackville Memorial Hospital (Sackville area)
  • Saint John Regional Hospital (Saint John area)
  • Stan Cassidy Centre For Rehabilitation (Fredericton area)
  • St. Joseph's Hospital (Saint John area)
  • Sussex Health Centre (Saint John area)
  • The Moncton Hospital (Moncton area)
  • Upper River Valley Hospital (Upper River Valley Area)

The wireless network, called 'WiFi-Patients', has coverage available in most patient areas including the cafeteria, lobby, waiting rooms, and patient rooms.

Horizon is currently exploring options to provide patient wireless internet to other facilities, including community health centres and clinics.


Some Restrictions Apply

  • There are some restrictions using wireless Internet and devices around life-critical equipment.

  • Do not plug any wireless devices into the red-coloured outlets as these outlets ensure adequate power to critical equipment during a power interruption.

  • There are some bandwidth limits on the wireless service to ensure equal access for all patients.

How to Connect

To access the patient and family wireless network:

1. Open your wireless connection settings to see available wireless networks.

2. Select 'Wifi - Patients' and click 'Connect' (some facilities may have additional numbers after 'Wifi - Patients').

3. Open your web browser.

4. After a few seconds, you will see an initial language page to ensure that the login instructions are provided in your language of choice (English or French).

6. Click the 'Connect Me' and redirect to the home page.
