Smoking/Vaping Cessation Program
What is smoking/vaping cessation?
Smoking/vaping cessation is the process of attempting to quit smoking/vaping. Quitting smoking/vaping can be difficult, but there is support available to help you on your journey to success.
Where is smoking/vaping cessation support offered?
In Horizon Health Network, smoking/vaping cessation support is
available when accessing health care in many of our facilities.
Examples include:
- Hospitals
- Community health centres
- Outpatient centres/clinics
When accessing care, you will be asked about your tobacco/vaping use and offered support using a non-judgmental approach.
What does this support include?
Smoking/vaping cessation support includes:
- A conversation with a health care provider about your smoking/vaping history
- A discussion that includes reviewing strategies and medications that can help you be successful in your quit attempt
- Developing a plan for quitting smoking/vaping and remaining smoke/vape free
This service is available when accessing care in our hospitals, many of our community health centres and many of our specialty clinics.
