Upper River Valley Area Hospitals Going Smoke-Free
(Upper River Valley Area) April 21, 2016 - On April 25, the Upper River Valley Hospital and Hotel-Dieu of St. Joseph Hospital will be smoke-free.
These facilities are part of Horizon Health Network's 'Smoke-Free Together' spring launch, following Miramichi Regional Hospital on April 7 and the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation and Oromocto Public Hospital on April 18. The Saint John Regional Hospital has been smoke-free since September. All Horizon hospitals will be smoke-free within the next six months.
The public is invited to attend events celebrating the launch. The Upper River Valley Hospital will kick-off its event at 11 a.m. in the hospital lobby. Hotel-Dieu of St. Joseph Hospital's event takes place at 1 p.m. in the hospital lobby. David Moore, Executive Director of the facilities, will deliver remarks at both events.
