2017 Atlantic Trauma and Emergency Medicine Conference

MONCTON (Thursday, September 21, 2017)


Members of the media are invited to attend the 2017 Atlantic Trauma and Emergency Medicine Conference, on Friday September 22, between 10:00-10:30 at the Delta Beauséjour in Moncton.

At this time, members of the media are welcome to interview conference co-chairs,Dr. Tushar Pishe, Provincial Medical Director of the NB Trauma Program, as well asDr. Andrew Travers, Provincial Medical Director for Emergency Health Services Nova Scotia. The co-chairs welcome discussion with the media in regards to the essential teamwork required for care of patients that are critically ill or injured. Furthermore, discussion pertaining to the significant burden of injury seen in the Atlantic provinces, and the collaborative care and injury prevention initiatives that have thus ensued, are also welcome. Keynote speakers, including Dr. Chris Hicks, emergency medicine physician and lead Researcher at St. Michael's Hospital (Toronto ON) and Dr. Peter O'Meara, Professor of Rural and Regional Paramedicine at LaTrobe University (Melbourne, AUS) may also be available to speak with media.

This event is hosted by the NB Trauma Program. The conference's goal is to share best practices and research in the fields of trauma care and emergency medicine. This year's event will see delegates take part in accredited workshops and simulation training, hear clinically relevant plenaries, participate in debates and share their research findings.  A copy of the program is attached with a complete lineup of speakers and panelists.
