Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) virus not previously identified in people. COVID-19 was first identified in Wuhan in China on Dec. 31, 2019. Globally, there is a current outbreak of the disease (World Health Organization).

In New Brunswick,  Public Health is closely monitoring the spread of COVID-19. For up-to-date and accurate information about cases of COVID-19 in New Brunswick,  click here.

Our primary focus continues to be ensuring the health and safety of our patients and clients, staff, physicians and communities.

Starting Monday, May 11, we will begin reintroducing some critical and urgent services to allow additional priority elective surgeries to resume. These services were previously put on hold as we prepared for and responded to the COVID-19 pandemic in New Brunswick.

As we welcome more patients into our facilities we need to ensure strict measures remain in place for the safety of our health care workers and the safety of our patients, clients and communities.
